There are glass installations designed to offer businesses and their employees protection with glass products.  The workplace environment is gaining more privacy and protection attention from property owners or business managers looking to provide privacy and protection for their workers.  Some of the main privacy and protection aspects of glass will include durability, safety and longevity.  We have the capabilities to customize your security glass to match your needs.  To determine the U.L. glass protection level (Protection Levels 1-8) best suited for your protection application, we will discuss all the details pertinent to that task.  Please give us a call at 850-872-8702 today.

How Does Bullet-Proof & Riot-Proof Glass Perform

The process of creating bullet-proof and riot-proof glass includes laminating a polycarbonate clear plastic interlayer between sheets of strenghtened glass or clear acrylic.  The strength of the material will relate to the number of layers and thickness of the glass.  There have been eight different levels of ballistics resistant glass established by the U.L., each capable of withstanding security threats of different magnitudes.  The higher the U.L. rating, the more protection the product offers.

Types Of Bullet-Proof Glass

  • Solid Acrylic Bullet Resistant Glass
  • Laminated Polycarbonate Glass
  • Glass -Clad Polycarbonate

Normal glass may be around 3mm thick while Bullet-Proof glass may be around 21mm thick, or thicker.  Depending upon your protection needs, we will discuss the Bullet-Proof solution that best fits your needs.

Bullet-Proof Glass Information

Bullet-Proof glass at a first glance appears to be plain ordinary glass.  Depending upon the U.L. rating level of Bullet-Proof glass either the more or less secure the glass is.  Bullet-Proof glass reduces the velocity by absorbing the energy from the bullet(s).  The thickness of Bullet-Proof glass is of the utmost importance.  Bullets from a rifle or other heavy weapon require a super thick glass versus a bullet fired from a hand gun.  NO glass is 100% bulletproof!  The simplest Bullet-Proof glass contains at least 3 layers i.e. one layer of plastic and two glass  standard glass sheets.  The plastic layer is sandwiched between two panes of standard glass.

  • Small Handguns:  Level 1 is used as a minimun to prevent small handguns attack.
  • Large Caliber Handguns:  Level 2 is the recommended minimun for large caliber handgun attacks.
  • Super Powered Handguns:  Level 3 or above is the minimun recommended for these attacks.
  • Automatic Weapons or Assualt Rifles:  Level 4-8 is the minimun recommended level for these types of attacks.

Although we can provide Bullet-Proof glass we cannot guarantee the performance of any of the Bullet-Proof glass performance, or be responsible for any negative results from a shooter(s) attack.
